The restoration program of work put forward would limit temporary road traffic closure of Hampden Bridge to between 6pm and midnight on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays only for two, seven week periods between Monday 9 May 2011 and Friday 9 September 2011. Pedestrian access is open.

Current planning is for the work to be delivered in the following sequence:

* From 14 March 2011 until 6 May 2011 - prefabrication of structural timber components at RTA Bendeela Road Depot. Heavy timber work at depot during standard work hours.

* From 9 May 2011 until 27 May 2011 - reconstruction of both bridge abutments. Heavy timber work, rock drilling and bolting at bridge. Heavy timber work at RTA Bendeela Road Depot and at Hampden Bridge. Standard work hours Monday and Friday. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday work hours from 7am until 1am.

* From 30 May 2011 until 24 June 2011 - redecking of Hampden Bridge commencing on Moss Vale side – longitudinal stringers, transverse sheeting, and longitudinal decking. Heavy timber work at RTA Bendeela Road Depot and at Hampden Bridge. Standard work hours Monday and Friday. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday work hours from 7am until 1am.

* From 25 July 2011 until 19 August 2011 – continue redecking of bridge. Heavy timber work at RTA Bendeela Road depot and at Hampden Bridge. Standard work hours Monday and Friday. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday work hours from 7am until 1am.

* From 22 August 2011 until 9 September 2011 - reconstruction of end trusses and replacement of mid span pin. Heavy timber work at RTA Bendeela Road depot and at Hampden Bridge. Standard work hours Monday and Friday. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday work hours from 7am until 1am.
